Private Transfer from Altenrhein Airport to Lech am Arlberg

A private taxi from St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport to Lech am Arlberg costs from €320 (fixed price per car) and takes about 1 hour 20 minutes for the approx. 100 km drive through the Rhine valley and over the Flexen Pass. Your driver tracks your flight, meets you in arrivals with a name sign and drives you door to door to your hotel, chalet or apartment in Lech – skis and luggage included. Call +43 664 930 66 26 or book on WhatsApp.

Taxi Anton provides a private airport transfer from St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport (ACH) directly to Lech am Arlberg. The vehicle is reserved for your group only: no unrelated passengers, no scheduled stops and no train or bus changes. Your group. Your vehicle. Direct to Lech.

Altenrhein is the small airport on the Swiss shore of Lake Constance – one of the closest airports to the Arlberg, with a short walk from the plane to the exit. From here Lech is only about 1 h 20 min away, but the village has no railway station and lies behind the Flexen Pass, so a direct transfer from the arrivals area to your hotel, chalet or apartment in Lech, Oberlech or Zug is the simplest way to arrive with skis and luggage. Smooth, reliable and well-organised from airport pickup to hotel drop-off.

Our Altenrhein to Lech ski transfers bring you over the Flexen Pass in one go – in a winter-ready VW Caravelle 4Motion or Mercedes Vito 4MATIC, with an Arlberg driver who climbs this road every day of the season. No station, no bus up the pass, no carrying ski bags between connections.

St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport (ACH) – Your Gateway to Lech

St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport is a small regional airport in eastern Switzerland, on the shore of Lake Constance right next to the Austrian border. That location makes it one of the closest arrival airports for Lech, Zürs, Stuben and St. Anton – considerably closer than Zurich or Munich.

If your flight times fit, it is one of the most convenient gateways to the Arlberg: your driver meets you at the airport, you cross into Austria within minutes, and you travel through the Rhine valley and Vorarlberg straight to your hotel or chalet in Lech – no onward trains, buses or rental car to organise.

Lech am Arlberg – Direct Transfer to Your Ski Resort

For guests arriving at Altenrhein, Lech is one of the closest Alpine resorts across the border. Lech am Arlberg is one of Austria’s most prestigious Alpine resorts and part of the Ski Arlberg area, known for excellent skiing, high-quality hotels and chalets, a traditional village centre and reliable snow.

Unlike St. Anton, Lech has no railway station, so the last part of every journey is by road – over the Flexen Pass. A private transfer from Altenrhein takes you there directly, door to door.

Altenrhein Airport Transfer Pickup – Meet & Greet Included

Altenrhein is a small airport, so you are out of the terminal within minutes. Send us your flight number when you book, and the pickup follows your actual arrival time rather than the timetable.

Once you have your luggage, your driver meets you in the arrivals area with your name on a sign. We send you the driver’s name and phone number before pickup, so you know who to look for before you land.

Your airport pickup includes:

  • Flight monitoring
  • Airport meet & greet at Altenrhein Airport, with a personal name sign
  • Luggage assistance
  • Your driver’s name and phone number before pickup
  • Direct transfer to your accommodation in Lech

Your driver is there with your name when you come through the doors and takes over the luggage trolley.

Flight Delays – Reliable Pickup for Your Altenrhein to Lech Transfer

Delayed flight? No problem. We monitor your flight and adjust your pickup to the actual arrival time. After landing we wait up to 60 minutes at no extra cost, and your fixed price stays the same.

Because we follow your flight in real time, your Altenrhein Airport to Lech transfer is ready when you land – you do not need to call us from the plane.

Altenrhein to Lech Transfer Time, Distance & Route

Map: Taxi from St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport to Lech Taxi from St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport to Lech: approx. 100 km, about 1 h 20 min – through the Rhine valley to Langen, then over the Flexen Pass. Schematic map, not to scale. Lake Constance Flexen Pass Altenrhein Airport Diepoldsau Feldkirch Bludenz Langen Stuben Zürs Lech
Taxi from St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport to Lech: approx. 100 km, about 1 h 20 min – through the Rhine valley to Langen, then over the Flexen Pass. Schematic map, not to scale.

Main route through the Rhine valley, Langen and the Flexen Pass

From Altenrhein we drive up the Swiss side of the Rhine and cross into Austria at Diepoldsau – the same border crossing as on our Zurich transfers – then follow the Rhine valley motorway (A14) past Hohenems and Feldkirch, then the Klostertal past Bludenz to Langen am Arlberg. From Langen we climb through Stuben and over the Flexen Pass to Zürs and Lech – the direct way into Lech, without the Arlberg Pass.

Your private transfer from Altenrhein Airport to Lech covers approximately 100 km and normally takes around 1 hour 20 minutes. The Flexen Pass road is cleared and kept open in winter. Snowfall and weekend ski traffic can make the drive longer, and our experienced local drivers plan it around the conditions on the day. Travel with confidence and peace of mind from Altenrhein to Lech.

What if the Flexen Pass is closed?

It happens rarely – only on days with very high avalanche danger, sometimes for a few hours, sometimes until the next morning. In winter the Flexen Pass is the only road into Lech, so we watch the road status and call you before you land. In practice, hotels in Lech usually find their guests a room for the night elsewhere on the Arlberg; we drive you there and agree the onward journey to Lech with you as soon as the road reopens.

Drop-off in Lech, Zug and Oberlech

We drive you to the door of your hotel, chalet or apartment in Lech or Zug. Most Oberlech guests go up with the Oberlechbahn cable car: we drop you at the valley station in Lech, and on busy days, such as Saturdays, we use the drop-off level beneath it in the Anger Garage. Your luggage goes onto a trolley, the lift staff take it up with the cable car, and it waits for you at the top station. Ask your hotel’s reception – we take you wherever they recommend.

How to Get from Altenrhein to Lech – Taxi, Train or Bus?

For families, groups and skiers, a private taxi is the most convenient option: around 1 h 20 min, direct to your hotel, from €320 per car. Public transport to Lech involves several connections, and because Lech has no railway station, the final stretch over the Flexen Pass must be completed by bus or taxi.

The best option depends on how many of you travel, how much ski luggage you bring and how late your flight lands.

Taxi Bus + train + bus Rental car
Door to door ✅ Airport to your hotel ❌ Station, then bus up to Lech ⚠️ You drive yourself
Changes ✅ None ⚠️ Several, then Langen or St. Anton ✅ None
With skis and suitcases ✅ Easy ⚠️ Carrying bags between bus, train and bus ⚠️ Needs a big car
Late or delayed flight ✅ We track your flight ⚠️ Fixed timetable ✅ Yes
Flexen Pass in winter ✅ Local driver, 4×4, chains ✅ No driving ⚠️ You drive the mountain pass
Best for Families, groups, ski luggage, late arrivals Single travellers with light luggage Travellers who need a car all week

Our honest advice: if you are travelling alone with light luggage and are not in a hurry, public transport is a workable option. For families, ski equipment or a late arrival, a direct taxi is usually much more convenient.

Private Airport Transfer or Rental Car?

A hire car is useful for day trips around Lake Constance and Vorarlberg, but during a ski week in Lech it mostly stands in the snow. After heavy snowfall spaces are scarce, many hotels have only a few, and garages and paid car parks in resorts like Lech and St. Anton are expensive. Add the Flexen Pass in winter, snow chains at the roadside and, for UK and Irish drivers, driving on the right.

No parking. No snow chains. No unfamiliar winter roads – just a direct transfer to your door.

Altenrhein to Lech Ski Transfer – Skis & Luggage Included

Skis, snowboards, ski boots and normal holiday luggage travel free – every car has room for winter equipment. Tell us how many suitcases and ski bags you have so we send the right vehicle.

In Lech you are on the slopes soon after you arrive, so our private ski transfer from Altenrhein Airport carries the whole week’s equipment for you – skis, boots and suitcases for the family or group in one vehicle. For up to 8 passengers, tell us the number and size of your bags when you book, and we confirm that everything fits safely.

Taxi Altenrhein Airport to Lech: 4×4 minibus with skis on the rear ski rack on a snowy Arlberg road
Taxi Altenrhein Airport to Lech: skis, snowboards and suitcases travel free in our 4×4 minibuses.

Family-Friendly Airport Transfers to Lech – Free Child Seats

Child seats and boosters are free on request: tell us the children’s ages when you book.

Children, ski bags and several changes between train and bus do not go well together. In a private car the whole family rides together from Altenrhein to the door of your hotel in Lech – a calm, family-friendly start to your ski holiday.

Winter-Ready 4x4 Vehicles for Your Altenrhein to Lech Transfer

We drive the Altenrhein–Lech route in a VW Caravelle 4Motion or a Mercedes Vito 4MATIC – both all-wheel drive, with winter tyres and snow chains, leather seats, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and room for up to 8 passengers with luggage.

Both are modern, comfortable 4x4 vehicles – clean, safe and regularly maintained – with room for suitcases, ski bags and snowboards on the climb over the Flexen Pass.

Why Choose Taxi Anton for Your Altenrhein to Lech Transfer?

Book your Altenrhein Airport to Lech transfer directly with Taxi St. Anton, a local taxi company from the Arlberg, not with an international booking platform. Taxi Anton has run its own St. Anton Taxi business in St. Anton since 2011 – more than 15 years of experience – and the owner has driven taxis on the Arlberg since 1998.

Fixed Price for Your Lech Transfer – No Hidden Fees

One fixed price per car, from €320, with tolls, vignettes, skis and child seats included. A delayed flight or slow traffic on the way does not change it.

Local Drivers Who Know the Arlberg

Your professional, experienced local driver comes from the Arlberg and drives the Flexen Pass road every day of the season. Punctuality matters to us: you receive the driver’s name and phone number before pickup, and your driver waits in arrivals with a name sign and helps with your luggage.

Comfortable, Hassle-Free Door-to-Door Travel

After your flight, simply sit back: a comfortable, stress-free ride in a private vehicle with plenty of room for your ski equipment, booked conveniently by phone, WhatsApp or online, and delivered smoothly from the arrivals area to the door of your hotel in Lech.

At a glance:

  • Fixed price, no hidden fees – from €320 per car, tolls, vignettes, skis and child seats included; a delayed flight costs nothing extra.

Affordable Altenrhein to Lech Transfers for Families & Groups

Travelling to Lech as a family or a group? A private transfer is often the most affordable way to arrive together: up to 8 passengers travel in one vehicle at one fixed fare, provided everyone and the luggage fit safely.

No strangers on board and no stops in other villages – only your group, your skis and one direct drive to Lech. Great value and a family-friendly start to your holiday.

Return Transfer from Lech to St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport

The way back costs the same. We pick you up at your hotel in Lech and plan the departure time around your flight, with extra time for snow and Saturday traffic. Add the return airport transfer when you book and we confirm both rides together.

When should I leave Lech for Altenrhein Airport?

We suggest a pickup time based on your departure, the weather forecast for the Flexen Pass and how much time you want at the airport. On Saturdays in the ski season and after fresh snow we plan in extra time.

  3. We confirm your fixed price by SMS or WhatsApp. Before pickup you receive your driver’s name and phone number.
