The road from St. Anton to Stuben goes over the Arlberg Pass (1,793 m), passing St. Christoph and Alpe Rauz, and then down the Vorarlberg side of the pass to Stuben. Is the road to Stuben open in winter?
Yes, the Arlberg Pass road is cleared and kept open in winter. On rare days with high avalanche danger, the authorities close the stretch between St. Christoph and Alpe Rauz. Stuben can then still be reached from the other side: we drive through the Arlberg road tunnel to Langen and up to Stuben (see the map below).
